Retention Pond

A bit of explanation probably called for here.

Several of the stormwater retention ponds near me have been neglected for quite a while.

As a result, they've been allowed to become overgrown to the point that the roots of trees have begun to interfere with their drainage systems.

Hence, the excavator.

  1. Hopefully, they got to the root of the problem. :)

  2. So the excess stormwater comes up and sits around there until it is absorbed into the ground or evaporates?

    1. Water runs off the community's paved areas into these ponds where it is collected until it reaches the level of the drains. At that point, the excess water drains off into other retention ponds or directly into streams. This effectively manages the runoff until it can safely enter area streams without causing catastrophic flooding and erosion.

  3. Es la forma de resolver el problema.
