Another reason to eat lunch at the Royal Oak is that it is literally around the corner from the cathedral where I was headed next for rehearsal. We had so many rehearsals because the choir sang different music for each performance. In fact, most of us traveled with separate bags for the sole purpose of carrying our music and choir robes. Also, each cathedral or chapel had its own unique acoustics and physical space, requiring us to quickly settle in and adjust to the new circumstances.
Esa calle te invita a seguirla con la mirada y descubrir al fondo su catedral.
ReplyDeleteQue tengas una buena semana.
That was quite a tour that you were on.
ReplyDeleteIt really was a wonderful experience. To be sure, England's cathedrals in late February can be extraordinarily cold and uncomfortable places to be. But the acoustics! Like no other places on earth.
DeleteGlad your enjoyed the tour and had a wonderful experience.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lunch!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a really lovely oldish street, sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a beautifully immersive experience—both musically and logistically. I love the image of choir members with entire bags just for music and robes! It really highlights the dedication involved. Rehearsing in a new cathedral each time must have kept things exciting, if also a bit exhausting. I imagine Ripon's acoustics brought their own special kind of challenge and magic.
