A couple of views from atop Mount Sugarloaf. That's the Connecticut River down below. The chairs in the foreground were set up for a wedding that was about to take place. In fact, the wedding couple and guests were arriving in cars and vans as I was about to make my way back down the mountain.
My compliments to the landscape architects who are helping make the Smith College campus an exceptionally attractive as well as environmentally friendly place to work and study.
I wonder who might have sat on this bench before me. Scientists sharing observations? Students comparing notes? Lovers? Visitors just taking a breather? If only it could speak and "spill the beans."
I wish now that I had checked what appears to be a label on the back side of this pot. Without it, I had no idea what kind of plant this was. Very interesting corm, though, don't you think?
