Sprung

Despite today's expected rain and cool temperatures might suggest, spring has sprung. Redbuds and buttercups never lie. :-)

Magic

The tulips here are beginning to fade, slowly giving way to other flowering plants like irises, wisteria, azaleas, and camelias. Always, to my mind at least, a magical time of year.

Aluminum

This was my first introduction to aluminum bells (above). As was explained during the concert, they were chosen for two reasons: 1) they're lighter than their bronze equivalents, and 2) they have what the choir director called a more "fundamental" tone, by which I think he meant that they generate fewer overtones that tend to overwhelm the sound from the smaller bells.
