From what I read and heard, the owners of Bonnet House imported a troop of monkeys to share their tropical paradise. Sadly, only one remains. Though one can only imagine what Fort Lauderdale would be like if that original colony had survived and grown. A barrel of laughs? :-)

A portrait of the artist's friend Catherine Eddy Beveridge. She was the best friend of all three of Frederic Clay Bartlett's wives and Helen Birch Bartlett's cousin. The house which once stood on the south west corner of the Bonnet House property was built by her.
